My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel will play a solo set at this year’s Newport Folk Festival, joining the July 28 lineup that includes headliners Fleet Foxes, The Heat and the Heart, Shovels & Rope, Regina Spektor, Ben Gibbard, Alone & Together and more. 

The members of My Morning Jacket have become mainstays at the festival in recent years, backing up Ray LaMontagne and Roger Waters in recent years along with playing a set of their own music in 2015 prior to that set with Waters. Broemel is working off of the release of his latest solo album 4th of July. 

Newport Folk kicks off July 28 in Newport, RI and is currently sold out.
