WXPN Adds Artists to 2024 XPoNential Festival Lineup: George Porter Jr., Jade Bird, Brigitte Calls Me Baby and More

WXPN has tacked nine additional acts to the artist lineup for its 2024 XPoNential Music Festival, set to stage on Camden, N.J.’s waterfront at Wiggins Park from Sept. 20-22. The newest additions amplifies a stellar list of eight previously announced artists for the festival’s 31st iteration. Beyond a new total of 17 performances, WXPN is expected to further offerings still and the daily schedules in the months leading up to this year’s presentation.

George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners will lead a litany of XPoNential newcomers this year, joining staples like Jade Bird, who previously performed in 2021. The Walkmen, New York’s indie vanguard led by Hamilton Leithauser, will also return, now headlining the festival after its 2010 performance, as well as Pete Yorn, who contributed to the festival’s debut presentation in 2009. Philadelphia natives Velvet Rouge will support the lineup for the second year in a row, alongside other local up-and-comers Florry, Mostapha Noumbissi and Carla Gamble, the former Poet Laureate of Philadelphia. Rising retro crooner Wes Leavins and his band Brigitte Calls Me Baby will make an XPoNential premier, following the release of the group’s November 2023 debut EP This House Is Made of Corners, as well as Leavins’ vaunted vocals on the Baz Luhrmanm’s 2022 biopic Elvis.

The newest additions join the previously-announced legendary country songstress Rosanne Cash, who will return to the festival after previously performing in 2010, as well as Phosphorescent, whose first XPoNential appearance since 2013 will follow the release of his ninth studio album, Revelator. Other exciting billings include Blondshell, Bully, The Heavy Heavy, Lizzie No, Cedric Burnside and Grace Bowers are also set to perform.
