Sound On Sound Announces Reconfigured Return: Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, Trey Anastasio Band and More

Today, Sound On Sound announced it will return to the banks of the Long Island Sound in Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Conn., from Saturday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023. The gathering marks the festival’s second iteration and promises to deliver a reconfiguration of the festival experience from last year’s inaugural event.

The newly designed festival experience includes a festival footprint of twice the size, a relocated site with delineated walkways for ease of movement within the grounds, three times as many food and beverage vendors, upgraded restroom facilities, lighting and directional signage enhancements across the venue and parking lot areas, and increased mobile connectivity and coverage through the placement of additional portable cell towers.

“The City of Bridgeport is happy to announce that Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Mayer will be our headliners for this year’s Sound On Sound festival,” said Mayor Ganim in a press release. “Tens of thousands of people from all over will be visiting Bridgeport to enjoy top notch entertainment, utilize restaurants and services in the city and surrounding communities, while being exposed to one of Bridgeport’s best assets, Seaside Park. As mayor, I cannot be prouder or happier.”

Sound On Sound’s 2023 lineup features performers including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Connecticut’s own John Mayer, Trey Anastasio Band, Alanis Morissette, Hozier, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Lord Huron, Dispatch, Joy Oladokun, Margo Price, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Mt. Joy, Steel Pulse, J and more.

“I am beyond excited to bring both the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fairfield County’s favorite son John Mayer to Sound On Sound 2023. Along with Alanis Morissette, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Trey Anastasio and so many other emerging and classic artists – this year’s festival will be awesome,” added Jim Koplik, President of Live Nation CT and Upstate N.Y.

On top of the music, Sound On Sound will feature local food, beverages and activities for music fans of all ages.
