French Quarter Festival Details 40th-Anniversary Event

Today, the French Quarter Festival has revealed details behind its upcoming 40th-anniversary event, slated to take place from April 13 through 16, throughout the French Quarter neighborhood in New Orleans. The folks behind the annual operation have shared an extensive list of musicians who have signed on to participate in the springtime festivities.

The event boasts more than 20 stages and will welcome 270+ acts, including more than 50 debuts. First-time performers include Big Freedia, Soul Rebels, DiFranco, Flagboy Giz and the Wild Tchoupitoulas, Iceman Special, Dee1, Los Guiros, Jason Neville Funky Soul Band, LeTrainiump, Michael Doucet & Lacher Prise and more. 

Tank and the Bangas, John Boutté, Sweet Crude, Robin Barnes and the Fiyabirds, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band and more than one-hundred other highly anticipated acts will also return for this year’s event. The French Quarter Festival will also boast local legends as a part of the Chevron Evening Concert Series, including Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and the Golden Eagles, Louisiana’s Le Roux and Erica Falls. 

The GE Stage, which is housed in Jackson Square, returns with an all-star lineup of New Orlean’s most widely admired artists and culture-bearers; Delfeayo Marsalis & the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Charmaine Neville and James Andrews. Moreover, the Abita Beer Stage on Canal Plaza will host four days of music, with contributions from Shamar Allen and Flow Tribe. 

In addition to an extensive lineup of musical talent, the French Quarter Festival will also draw interest with an offering of over 60 vendors in their stacked culinary lineup. Local favorites such as Jacques-Imo’s, Crabby Jacks, Voleo’s, Southerns and more will be available. This year’s presentation of cuisine is sponsored by Broussard’s Restaurant & Courtyard.
