Eric Clapton has announced the return of his Crossroads Guitar Festival, which will occur over two days, Sept. 23 and 24, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The gathering will return for the first time after a four-year hiatus and features a star-studded lineup of music industry talent with an emphasis on guitar legends.
ZZ Top, Santana, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, and the John Mayer Trio top this year’s lineup and are slated to appear on stage both nights. In addition, rock greats such as Stephen Stills, John McLaughlin, Robbie Robertson, Roger McGuinn and Albert Lee have signed on to perform during the early fall event.
Representing the blues rock realm are Taj Mahal, Gary Clark Jr., Keb’ Mo’, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales and Jimmy Vaughn. Also, scoring slots are The War on Drugs, H.E.R., Sheryl Crow and Los Lobos. Elsewhere on the docket, bluegrass and country fans will see the inclusion of Jerry Douglas, Del McCoury, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull and others.
The seventh edition of the Crossroads Guitar Festival will offer two different nights of music. Not all artists will perform on both nights. Proceeds raised from the event will go toward supporting the Clapton-backed Crossroads Centre in Antigua, which assists in education and treatment programs for those facing addiction.
