Earl Scruggs Music Festival will return to Mill Spring, N.C., for its fourth annual event on August 29-31. Continuing tradition, the occasion will take place at Tryon International Equestrian Center. It will boast an exemplary lineup of musical talent that pays tribute to the traditions of the five-string banjo master, Scruggs, and his influence on folk, country, and American roots music. 

The three-day event has been parsed into daily lineups. Beginning on Friday, August 29, headliners The Wood Brothers and The War and Treaty lead a list that includes Tony Trischka’s Earl Jam, featuring Michael Daves and Sister Sadie, alongside Henhouse Prowlers, Travis Book String Band, Authentic Unlimited, Holler Choir, Nicholas Edward Williams and Finkelstein 3. 

Saturday, August 30, leads with 27-time Grammy winner Alison Kraus & Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas. Also scheduled to perform are Sam Bush, Sierra Hull, Town Mountain, Shawn Camp & Verlon Thompson: Songs & Stories of Guy Clark, Fireside Collective, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Healing The Holler Ft. Unspoken Tradition, Allison de Groot with Tatiana Hargraves. 

On the final day of the Earl Scruggs Music Festival, Sunday, August 31, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Del McCoury Band are slated to headline. Watchhouse, The Earls of Leicester, Trischka’s Earl Jam ft. Michael Daves, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Rob Ickles & Trey Hensley, Darren Nicholson Band, Songs From the Road Band, John Hartford Fiddle Tune Project and Reedy River String Band are also set to play.
