Wanee Block Party to Feature Marcus King Band, North Mississippi Allstars, Jaimoe, George Porter Jr. and More

After announcing in the fall that Wanee Festival will not return to its usual location at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, festival organizers have announced today that this year’s gathering will instead morph into the inaugural Wanee Block Party, which will take place in Fort Lauderdale, FL near the end of March.
Set to play the Block Party, which will feature music spread out over two days and three separate venues, are The Marcus King Band, North Mississippi Allstars, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, George Porter Jr. Trio, The Lee Boys, Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio, Gabriel Kelley and more, including the first-time outing for Jaimoe’s Mississippi Allstars (a mashup of the former Allman Brothers Band drummer’s group and NMA’s Luther and Cody Dickinson)—who will help open the weekend at Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live on Friday, March 22—and a Wanee Family Jam. Members of the Jam and additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Wane Block Party, presented by the Allman Brothers Band, will encompass Revolution Live, America’s Backyard and Stache Drinking Den + Coffee Bar on March 22 and 23. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday, February 1, at 10 a.m. EST. More information can be found here.
