Summer Camp Music Festival Adds Artists: Three 6 Mafia, Shpongle, Banyan, Hot Buttered Rum and More
Summer Camp has added a third round of artists to its 20th Anniversary edition. The festival will take place May 22-24 in Chillicothe, Ill. Three 6 Mafia, Shpongle and Hot Buttered Rum have been added to the bill.
In addition, Banyan featuring Stephen Perkins, Willie Waldman, Jake Cinninger, and Jim Loughlin will be performing, as well as The Jauntee, Filibusta, Funk You and many more.
The announcement comes amid widespread event cancellations due to coronavirus. Considering Summer Camp’s late May start date, it is unclear whether large gatherings will be running normally at that time.
The festival addressed the timing of the announcement in a statement.
“As you may have seen yesterday, the Illinois Governor has placed a ban on all events of 1000 or more gathering until May 1st. While we are deeply saddened for the effects this is having on our society, the silver lining is that Summer Camp takes place at the very end of May,” the statement read. “As such, all of our plans for the Summer Camp Music Festival are to move forward as usual for now. We will, of course, keep you updated if anything changes or new information as it becomes available.”
