It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Gear Up for Labor Day Shows from Phish, Umphrey’s, DMB & More

September 1, 2016

This really is the greatest time of the year. The worst of the summer heat is gone, football season is just hours away from kicking off, and music will kick into high gear this weekend as many bands mark the end of their summer touring slate with some blowout shows.

Over the weekend, there will be 10+ festivals and a pair of notable annual residencies as Phish returns to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and Dave Matthews Band stake claim to the Gorge one final time on this 25th anniversary tour before they say goodbye, taking a scheduled year off. Of the festivals, North Coast will welcome back prodigal sons Umphrey’s McGee for the first time in four years, the original Misfits will reunite at Riot Fest Denver and Bumbershoot will host hometown favorites Death Cab for Cutie, Macklemore and others.

As you get ready to say goodbye to summer and take to the grill this weekend before fall comes to town, revisit what a few of these bands did last year on this weekend including Phish’s love letter to their fans, DMB’s Gorge bustout and Umphrey’s delivering a true classic at North Coast.

Phish | “Harpua” (“THANK YOU” Encore)
