Today, Colorado Springs duo Tejon Street Thieves are offering an exclusive glimpse of their new audio/visual EP with an acoustic clip of their track “Whiskey.”

The new EP – dubbed Monarch Sessions – promises raw, live performances by the bluesmen, in a package they proclaim as their “fullest and most emotional album to date.”

Explains singer/guitarist Shawn D’Amario, “I wrote ‘Whiskey’ at a low point in my life. At the time, I was homeless. I was sleeping on couches, parks, and in bushes. I’d lost family members that were close to me and the only way I dealt with it was a heavy diet of whiskey. After awhile, I decided to and put my feelings down on paper rather than suppress them with booze. It was a release for me. Something that was so hard for me to face head on finally came out. Over time, ‘Whiskey’ evolved from its simple progression to a full on sing-along with stops, goes, highs, lows, and a very sassy fiddle. The song has grown exponentially in sound but the message has stayed the same.”

Monarch Sessions is available now.
