Song Premiere: Doom Flamingo Cover Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”
Art by Jordan Noir
Today, Doom Flamingo are debuting their fifth single, a “doomed-out” cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.”
“’Wicked Game’ is easily the sexiest video I have ever seen,” bassist Ryan Stasik said of the 1989 tune, known for its use in David Lynch’s film Wild At Heart. “That bendy guitar line, the sandy beach scenes… It was a no brainer for Doom Flamingo to perform it.”
Vocalist Kanika Moore takes centerstage on the Doom Flamingo version, with plenty of backing synth sounds to spare.
This new track also adds to the excitement around the band’s upcoming tour dates; their late 2019/early 2020 outing includes a Phish after-party in Charleston and a trio of Umphrey’s McGee where Stasik will pull double-duty for both bands.
