Yonder Mountain String Band Share Video for “Into the Fire,” the First Single from Forthcoming Album
On February 25, 2022, Yonder Mountain String Band will release a new studio album, Get Yourself Outside. The record features the quintet’s current line-up with founders Adam Aijala (guitar), Ben Kaufmann (bass) and Dave Johnston (banjo) alongside fiddle player Allie Kral, who joined the group in 2015, and YMSB’s newest member, mandolinist Nick Piccininni. The five musicians recorded Get Yourself Outside during quarantine at Cinder Sound Studio in Longmont, CO with co-producer and engineer John McVey.
“The whole thing has always been about the energy and the connection with all of us onstage and everyone out in the audience,” says Aijala of the current quintet. “And with this third iteration of Yonder Mountain, we’re really tapping into that onstage connection once again.”
Today we premiere the official video for “Into the Fire,” the first single from the forthcoming album, which is now available for pre-save and pre-order.
Kaufmann tells Relix “’Into the Fire’ features the newest voice in Yonder Mountain. Nick brought us the beginnings of this song when we were on the tour that would end up being our last before the pandemic hit. It had so much of that Yonder vibe that we knew right away it was going on the next record. While we didn’t physically see each other for the next 9 months, we spent that time together virtually: writing, editing, making demos, fine-tuning. The result is Get Yourself Outside and we couldn’t be prouder of it. Even pandemics have silver linings. This record is one of ours.”
Yonder Mountain String Band will appear at Strings & Sol next week in Puerto Morelos, Mexico and will close out the year with two nights at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride on December 30 and 31.
