Watch: Zac Brown Band Cover Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog at Fenway Park

As Zac Brown Band mature into their career, they’ve fancied themselves somewhat of a cover band these days, becoming known for introducing random, out-of-left-field covers into their repertoire. Early on their staples were “Devil Went Down to Georgia” (not that random for a band from Georgia), John Mayer’s “Neon” and others. Now, it can be anything from Billy Joel, The Beatles, Neil Diamond and now, they’ve dipped into the grunge era.

During their three-night run at Fenway Park (the first band to ever play a three-nighter next to the Green Monster) the group dipped into some grunge favorites as they offered up takes on Pearl Jam’s “Porch” and a PJ/Soundgarden collaboration in Temple of the Dog’s hit “Hunger Strike.” If you’re one of those people who still consider Zac Brown Band to be a “country” band, then go ahead and classify this as country music’s initiation to good, hard rock and roll.
