The Lone Bellow’s tour opener last night at the sold out Paradise Rock Club in Boston featured a wide variety of covers drawing from their various influences. Among them, a pair of Whitney Houston tunes (“I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “I Will Always Love You”), K-Ci & JoJo’s middle school dance anthem “All My Life” and the other middle school dance anthem, Joe’s “I Wanna Know.”

One of the more interesting, however, was this brief mashup of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” and their own classic “Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold.” The trio did what they do best as frontman Zach Williams involved the crowd on the singalong chorus before launching into the popular tune from their debut album.
