Watch: The Grateful Dead Play Final Show at Soldier Field
Twenty years ago today, the Grateful Dead played their final show at Soldier Field in Chicago. Jerry Garcia would sadly pass exactly a month later, bringing the band to an end and sending each member into their respective solo projects with various semi-reunions throughout the years.
This past weekend, the core surviving members returned to the same stage where they last left off, playing three final shows on the Fare Thee Well tour. Fittingly, they opened the first night with “Box of Rain,” the last song they played with Jerry Garcia.
