Over the run of TRI Studios, Slightly Stoopid became somewhat of a mainstay as they visited the San Rafael, CA virtual studio numerous times to jam with Bob Weir and others.

Today, the band has released pro-shot footage of their latest visit, this from April of this year when they welcomed Weir as well as Karl Denson for a special cover of the Dead’s “Franklin’s Tower.” The jam includes solos from Weir as well as Slightly Stoopid’s Miles Doughty and Denson himself.

“I grew up in Marin County and the music and culture of the Dead was all around us,” Slightly Stoopid’s Ryan Moran told Rolling Stone. My sister would give me hand-me-down bootleg cassette tapes of live Dead. I went to my first shows in high school at the Shoreline Amphitheater. The Dead were a huge influence on my musical path. I appreciate the chances they would take with sound creation, texture, dissonance, improvisation and exploration.”
