Last night in Houston, as Ryan Adams and the Shining kicked off the next leg of their tour, the singer took some time towards the end of the set to honor a crowd request of “AmStar.” While that wasn’t what the audience member yelled out (reader Jay Mac notes that the request was actually for “Dark Star”), they got what could very well be Adams’ best improvisational tune yet (we told you about a few others on his birthday).

See, AmStar is the “asshole of the galaxy,” who was called a “troll” in school and bullied by the other kids, which explains why he’s so mean now. Adams and AmStar used to be best friends, eating cereal, smoking weed and drooling over pictures of Samantha Fox. Why’d you have to change, AmStar?
