Ryan Adams’ punk rock past went to an entirely new level last night in San Francisco at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium as the singer-songwriter presumably lived a dream when he invited out Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra for a cover of their original “Moon Over Marin.” Adams’ fandom of the popular San Francisco punk rockers is well documented and this was surely a benchmark moment for the singer as the band tore through the Plastic Surgery Disasters cut.

This marks yet another landmark cover on Adams’ latest tour with his new band, The Shining. The ensemble has blown through material from Alice in Chains as well as a perfectly appropriate take on Bryan Adams’ “Run to You.”
