Watch Peter Shapiro Recap the ‘Magic’ of Fare Thee Well in New Interview

Relix Published Peter Shapiro sat for a brief interview on Three Minute Storyteller to recap the final moments of Fare Thee Well in Chicago. Shapiro recounts watching the “Attics of My Life” finale with producer Bob Ezrin before running backstage to greet the band as they walked off stage.
“Magic happens when you don’t really know what’s going to happen,” Shapiro says of adding Trey Anastasio to the world of the Grateful Dead along with all of the other unknowns that came with Fare Thee Well. “That’s why the jam scene is still so healthy today, people have an inherent urge to be around magic.”
