Watch: Jack White Decimates Coachella with Headlining Set

Rob Slater on April 13, 2015

The Coachella Valley desert is already hot this time of year, but Jack White’s headlining set surely turned it up a few more notches as the guitarist played one of his last dates on his Lazaretto tour on Saturday night at the festival. While this wasn’t the epic that his Bonnaroo set was, White powered through a 90+ minute show with something for every fan of White’s respective solo work and time with The White Stripes and Raconteurs.

Some of the highlights of the set came with a fiery “Icky Thump” opener as well as a request to “put your fucking phones down” from White. Surprisingly, this would be the only time he would make such a request. White also offered up a unique take on “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,” starting out on the piano. The closing “Seven Nation Army” also began with a snippet of Rage Against the Machine’s “Testify” as White also shouted out Run the Jewels and Zach De La Rocha, who collaborated earlier on in the night. What a time to be alive.
