Last night in Minneapolis, Grace Potter sat in with the Rolling Stones for the first of what very well could be several occasions as she teamed up with Mick Jagger on “Gimme Shelter.” As you’d expect, Jagger and Potter’s voices together gave the popular tune an extra boost. “Gimme Shelter” is a popular cover in the Potter canon, as she’s played the tune with her (former) band the Nocturnals and covered it with the likes of Warren Haynes, moe. and others. 

Potter’s transition to a solo artist may be clunky, with very little information as to what exactly she’s doing and why the Nocturnals are seemingly no more, but it appears to be working as she’s notched opening gigs for the Stones and Neil Young, among others. Potter will release her latest solo album, Midnight, on August 14. Check out her full tour schedule here.
