Watch: Eddie Vedder Performs at Chicago Cubs Benefit Show
Last night at the Metro in Chicago, one of the most famous Cubs superfans returned to lend a helping hand at the Hot Stove Cool Music benefit show to support Theo Epstein’s Foundation to Be Named Later. Vedder took the stage last, following a performance featuring a slew of local musicians including Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss, Wilco’s John Stirratt, Cheap Trick Daax Nielsen and more.
Among the musical highlights, a jazzy take on the Pearl Jam rocker “Corduroy” with a full saxophone solo as well as a rendition of “I Am a Patriot,” “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away,” “Love Boat Captain” and more. Vedder closed with a solo version of his Cubs tribute song, “All the Way,” where he was joined on stage by a majority of the team along with the Cubs executives.
