Watch: Chicago Blackhawks and Mumford & Sons Drink from the Stanley Cup

Mumford & Sons were forced to postpone their concert at Chicago’s Montrose Beach Park due to the nasty weather that plagued the area earlier in the week. The postponement may have opened up one of the cooler moments of the band’s tour thus far as they welcomed out the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks on stage to celebrate their win. “And it looks like they brought something with them,” Marcus Mumford said as he introduced the team and the Stanley Cup.

Earlier in the week, the Blackhawks held their championship celebration at Soldier Field, the same venue that will host a special run of shows of its own in the coming weeks as the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary invades the friendly confines of Soldier Field for a three-night run over July 4th weekend.

“It would be a huge honor for us if they would take a sip from the Cup,” Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews said when addressing the crowd. The members of the band then took turns drinking from the cup, with Ben Lovett opting to be doused with beer (or whatever alcohol of choice was in there). “The fucking champions!,” Winston Marshall screamed as the crowd erupted in a “Let’s Go Hawks” chant.
