Watch: Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Jimmy Buffett and Lucius Collaborate on “Margaritaville” in LA

Earlier this week, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real’s show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles took a beachy turn when the band was joined by Jimmy Buffett for a rendition for the latter singer-songwriter’s sunny classic “Margaritaville,” a moment that was, fortunately for us, captured on video.
As JamBase reports, the collaboration also featured Lucius singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, and the Troubadour crowd was more than welcoming to Buffett (one attendee can even be heard in the video saying, “No way is this happening”), who pre-empted the song by explaining, “It’s probably not known to a lot of people, but this is actually a Texas song. It was written in Austin, TX, and ended up in Key West, FL. And look what the hell happened. We’re going to Margaritaville.”
The whole collective seemed to be having a great time with the collaborative cover, which featured plenty of help from the crowd during the choruses. Buffett even nodded to Nelson’s famous father by altering his lyrics in the tune to say, “This is all Willie’s fault.”
