Video Premiere: The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band “Pot Roast and Kisses”

February 11, 2015

On February 17, Shanachie/Yazoo will release the new album from Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. The group’s mix of vocals, guitar, washboard and drums harkens back to the past yet the music is of the present. Today we premiere the official video for “Pot Roast and Kisses” from So Delicious (which is now available for pre-order). The Rev. tells Relix, “This is a love song to its core, and it is inspired by Breezy’s amazing pot roast recipe. Ben “Birddog” Bussell (drums) describes this song as ‘carbonated.’ I love that description. This song is real, it is fun, and I am so proud of the fingerpicking too. It really feels like there is a bass player, but there is not! It is all one guitar. The bass is my thumb, and the lead is played by my fingers, and all that guitar was done live. If you can watch this video and not smile, I suggest you seek professional help. ” The group will support the album with a national tour which includes a number of record store performances and kicks off on February 15 in Bloomington, IN.
