Michelle Malone’s new album, Slings and Arrows, presents nine blues-infused, soulful originals along with a cover of Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” on which she is joined by Shawn Mullins. Critics have hailed the record, with American Blues Scene describing it as “true, unabashed Americana, served up southern style.” Today we premiere a live video that presents a powerful version of the opening track, “Just Getting Started.” Malone tells Relix that the song “is an inspiring call to action, encouragement for anyone who needs a catalyst, and a defiant positive answer to my own question of ‘Am I up for making another record.'”
