Today we share a video from Playing For Change that features Los Lobos and Andres Calamaro performing the Mexican folk tune “La Bamba.” The song was later adapted by Richie Havens and re-popularized via Los Lobos’ take on “La Bamba” on the soundtrack to the 1987 Havens biopic of the same name. On Wednesday, Playing For Change will announce the details of a contest whereby fans will be invited to create videos of their families playing, singing, and dancing to the song, with an opportunity to receive a Fender Telecaster guitar signed by members of Playing for Change and Los Lobos.
