At the Boston Garden in 1994, the members of Phish came flying in on a hot dog, creating an iconic moment in rock and roll history. So iconic in fact that the hot dog itself now resides at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio. Before the band’s show at Blossom Music Center, where they uncorked a decidedly old school second set, Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell paid a visit to the ol’ dog, posing for a photo to mark the occasion.

There’s no way to tell if the trip down memory lane fired the group up for their show that night, but it’s worth noting that the Blossom show that night and subsequent Alpine Valley shows (especially last night) have the band particularly fired up.

Watch the band recreate the stunt many years later at Madison Square Garden during their 2010 NYE run.
