Today in Weird: Lady Gaga Recruited Josh Homme, Father John Misty, Kevin Parker, Beck and Florence Welch for New Album

Not Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is still someone who makes and releases music, and she is certainly enjoying this latest album cycle as she released her first solo music in three years in the form of “Perfect Illusion.” On the track is Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker along with super producer Mark Ronson and more. In a tweet, Gaga revealed that Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme also added to the track, making this the first step in this edition of Today in Weird.

Moving on to some more weird for your Friday, Gaga appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show this morning (via Consequence of Sound) and also revealed that Florence Welch is also on the record, calling her “one of the greatest vocalists in the world.” If that wasn’t enough for you, she ALSO included Beck and Father John Misty as collaborators on her new album.

While it’s easy to remember Lady Gaga as the poppy hit maker, it’s also important to remember her upbringing as a pianist in New York City. Maybe these collaborations signal a reinvention of the ever-changing Gaga. Time will tell, I suppose.
