You’ve probably seen the photo below of an absolutely incredible who’s who of famous people who turned out for Radiohead’s 1997 show at Irving Plaza in New York. That show and giant famous people summit happened twenty years ago today. 

There are a lot of interesting scenarios to pop up here, the first of which has to deal with bitter Brit-rock rivals Blur and Oasis. I imagine Liam and Albarn did not share a beer together. There’s also Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready, who chose to roll separately rather than just go as “Pearl Jam” like Oasis, Blur and R.E.M. did. 

There’s also the guests. Why is U2 rolling 17 or 18 deep to a show and how terrifying must a 14-person Marilyn Manson crew be? There are so many questions but this remains the greatest guest list of all time.
