Song Premiere: Michael Chiklis “The Show”

September 2, 2016

The debut studio recording from Michael Chiklis is set for release on September 16. Chiklis wrote the songs on Influence and also produced the album, which features performances by Conan’s Basic Cable Band members Richie “La Bamba” Rosenberg, Jerry Vivino and Scott Healy, as well as Andres Forero (Hamilton) and Steve Lukather. This is the debut studio recording from Chiklis who currently appears on Gotham as Nathaniel Barnes, Captain of the Gotham City Police Department and previously gained renown as Detective Vic Mackey in the groundbreaking series The Shield.

Chiklis tells Relix, “‘The Show’ is a direct descendant of my greatest musical influences, the British rockers! Queen, Peter Gabriel, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Bowie… they’re all in there. That’s the reason I called this record Influence, because every painting you have ever seen, every song you’ve ever heard, every work of art in every medium imaginable is influenced by someone who came before you. I gratefully acknowledge my predecessors and honor them by taking their influence and making new music, which is made my own but with their lessons deep within my soul.”

Influence is now available for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon.
