Song Premiere: Future Elevators “Alabama Song”

February 18, 2016

The self-titled debut album from Birmingham, Alabama’s Future Elevators is set for release tomorrow via Communicating Vessels. Lynn Bridges produced the record, while and Darrell Thorp (Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief, Beck’s Morning Phase) mixed it. Today, we premiere “Alabama Song” from the  new release. Lead vocalist Michael Shackelford tells Relix, “‘Alabama Song’ is about desperately holding on to a moment where everything is ok. The song is about the love I have for my daughter, as well as the struggles of living in the south or this day and age in general. The song is also about a person being your home instead of a place.” He then adds, “This song means the most to me of any song on the album.” Future Elevators will celebrate the release with a show tomorrow in Birmingham.
