Boston-based indie-folk collective Lick Neon has drawn comparisons to Cat Stevens, Kevin Morby, Cass McCombs, and Joshua Radin, among others. The group, which formed in 2017, released their first single last month and is back with a follow-up, which we premiere today.

Lead singer Nick tells Relix, “’She Thinks I Don’t Care’” is both a love song and a song discussing self-awareness. It is from the perspective of someone who realizes how little control they have over their own mind and actions, especially when faced with the tribulations of a failing romance. The song begins with the source of struggle, and the outro addresses the result of the struggle. Our goal with the track is to make this progression clear.”

Lick Neon will next appear at the Middle East Upstairs on December 10.
