Revisit the Grateful Dead’s Appearance on Playboy After Dark
The man who created the Playboy empire, Hugh Hefner, died at the age of 91. Once upon a time, Hefner welcomed the Grateful Dead to perform as a part of Playboy’s After Dark series and as the story goes, the Dead dosed the coffee pot and really took the party to another level.
Along with the dosing, the Dead also played a few songs including “St. Stephen” and “Mountains of the Moon” during their visit to the Mansion in 1969.
Relive that appearance below.
