Most celebrities/musicians have a Prince story. It’s just one of those things. Questlove, who celebrates his birthday today, has a very, very unique Prince story wherein he was kicked off the decks at a party in favor of Finding Nemo. Now, we know that whole story via an incredible animation video thanks to Okayplayer. 

It starts out even more bizarre than you’d imagine. Quest was on a blind date, taking her to Prince’s show in Philadelphia. The Roots drummer didn’t buy enough tickets for his whole crew, so had to seek out Prince’s assistant to get in. That’s where Prince got the idea to have Quest throw him a party after the show. Prince wants what Prince wants, and on this night Prince wanted Quest to DJ while he played pool and control the door. Anyway, you can watch the rest, but it all goes horribly wrong when Quest tries to wow Prince with some Fela Kuti.
