Bob Weir and Phil Lesh’s acoustic duo tour kicks off tonight with a two-night stint at Radio City Music Hall, before making stops in Boston and Chicago.
Whether you’re going to the shows, planning to couch tour them at home or suffering from a case of FOMO, check out this video of the Grateful Dead performing an acoustic “Cassidy” on the same stage Weir and Lesh will inhabit this weekend. Recorded on Halloween 1980, the six-minute tune—written by Weir and the late, great John Perry Barlow—showcases the Dead’s country music influence as well as Jerry Garcia’s nimble guitar work.
