Premiere: Warren Haynes Joins Lee Brice for “I Don’t Smoke”

October 20, 2017

On November 3, Lee Brice returns with a new self-titled studio album. The country artist, who has taken home both  CMA and ACM awards, co-produced the album, which is the follow-up to 2014’s I Don’t Dance. He also enlisted a few guest musicians for the record, included Warren Haynes and Edwin McCain.

Today we premiere the version of “I Don’t Smoke” with Haynes. Brice tells Relix, “Warren Haynes is not just a legend, he is the legend. Since I was a kid I have written music that is obviously influenced by him. His melodies. His riffs. His soul. So it was a dream come true to work with him. And having the opportunity to collaborate with him in the studio was one of the biggest thrills of my life. In fact I wouldn’t call it collaborating — I would call it ‘you do what you do and I’ll just sit here and try to control myself.’ Exchanging ideas and riffs with one of my all-time musical heroes was beyond surreal — bottom line. I am so thankful for the unforgettable moments that I shared with him in the studio. Nobody brings it like he does. Period.”

Lee Brice is now available for pre-order.  The stream of “I Don’t Dance” appears below:
