Perpetual Groove’s Final Encore: “Two Shores” > “All My Friends” > “Sweet Oblivious Antidote”
Over the weekend, at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Perpetual Groove played their final show before an indefinite hiatus. Prior to the performance, Georgia Theatre owner Wilmot Greene thanked the group for “twelve years of music, fun friendship,” noting that Perpetual Groove had played 68 shows at the venue, selling out 44 of those dates. Greene also reminded the crowd that the band had donated over $7,000 to employees of the Georgia Theatre after a fire destroyed the venue in June 2009 on the day that they were supposed to perform. The long evening eventually closed with a three-song, half-hour encore of “Two Shores,” “All My Friends” and “Sweet Oblivious Antidote,” all of which appear below.“Two Shores”“All My Friends”“Sweet Oblivious Antidote”
