Friday night in New York City saw funk music take center stage as Maceo Parker and Nikkie Glaspie highlighted the evening’s proceedings at the Blue Note. Over in Brooklyn, Erik Deutsch and the Jazz Outlaws opened up for Soulive at the Brooklyn Bowl with a band that featured Scott Metzger, Avi Bortnick and Tony Mason. Soulive then took the stage for a night that featured special guests George Porter Jr., The Shady Horns and Brandon Niederauer. Dino Perrucci shared some images from the shows.
