All-world business guru Billy McFarland is back at it again as VICE News uncovered a leaked tape of a conference call McFarland recently had with his employees at Fyre. The portion of the tape is essentially McFarland telling his employees that they will not be able to make payroll at the moment but hope everyone will hang around anyway. 

“I’m unclear as to how you’re asking us to remain employed without paying us,” one employee asks. “Are you firing me?,” he added. While that was met with a non-answer, another employee correctly chimed in that not being fired will prevent anyone who resigns from collecting unemployment. “I was not aware of that,” McFarland responded. 

The call peaks when an employee breaks a long, awkward period of silence with: “Payroll is not happening and we’re not being let go, so we’re just–here?”
