John Mayer is Sharing a Favorite Grateful Dead Track Every Day Until Dead & Company’s Tour
Look away, Chris Robinson.
John Mayer is transitioning from his own tour around his new album The Search for Everything and the start of Dead & Company’s tour, which kicks off Memorial Day Weekend.
The guitarist is pumped up to get back into the swing of things with his Dead & Co bandmates and plans on sharing a different favorite Grateful Dead track each day until the tour begins to rope in those fans who may not be familiar with the band.
I got you. I’m going to share a favorite @GratefulDead track every day until tour starts. I’ll walk you in. https://t.co/dhRMu3L8VA

Mayer’s first selection is the near-40th anniversary of “Sugaree” from Dick’s Picks Vol. 29 played at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA during the band’s famed May ’77 tour.
“Sugaree” 5/19/77. (Almost 40.) Simple chord prog., but incredible FEEL. Great Solo phrasing and slow climb to https://t.co/UMqISyFC3t
