It’s Never Too Late to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s _In the Dark_

July 7, 2017

For not releasing an album in nearly seven years, the Grateful Dead sure returned in style with 1987’s In the Dark which turned thirty years old yesterday.

Arguably the Dead’s most commercially successful record, the band rose to new heights with hits like “Touch of Grey,” “Hell in a Bucket” and “Throwing Stones” along with other album tracks like “West L.A. Fadeaway” and “Black Muddy River.” In the Dark landed the Dead on MTV and into the living rooms of millions as the album would eventually go double platinum, peaking at #6 on the Billboard 200 charts that year.

Listen to the album below as it enters its fourth decade of existence.
