In case you missed it last night (and I don’t know how you did), the Oscars imploded at the very end as La La Land was incorrectly announced as winner of Best Picture only to sort itself out with the real winner Moonlight taking home the big award. 

Old man Warren Beatty cried incorrect card as he claims the card given to him for Best Picture was in fact that for Best Actress, which went to La La Land‘s Emma Stone. Regardless, the blunder was very public and messy and awkward for an awards show that typically relies on grace especially in its biggest moment. 

The debacle last night certainly got one guy thinking, as Sturgill Simpson tweeted that maybe someone pulled the ol’ card switch on him at the Grammys that cost him Album of the Year. Adele took it home for her comeback record 25 over the popular pick, Beyonce’s Lemonade.
