Dino Perrucci’s Top Shows of 2015 (A Gallery)
Steady Relix contributor and man-on-the-move, photographer Dino Perrucci, shares his live show highlights from 2015 with this collection of images.
1/17/15 Gov’t Mule tribute to Johnny Winter with Anders Osborne, Sonny Landreth, Paul Nelson, Ron Holloway & London Souls at Island Exodus in Negril Jamaica. The final night of Island Exodus 6 was both bittersweet and magic. When IE6 was first announced Johnny Winter was supposed to be a part but sadly he passed away months before. Warren and company delivered a set for the ages.
2/27/15 North Mississippi Osborne at The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester NY. A couple of weeks into this tour these bands landed at the Cap for the biggest show of the tour and they did not disappoint. Start to finish the energy was very high. The show flowed without set breaks from North Mississippi Allstars to Anders Osborne Band to NMO.
3/15/15 Phil Lesh’s 75th Birthday with Warren Haynes, Eric Krasno, John Molo & Rob Barracco at The Capitol Theatre. What can you say? Phil turns 75 and celebrates at The Cap by bringing his Grandson Levon out to begin the show with Ripple! A very special night with many special moments.
5/3/15 The Meters with Cyril Neville at The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Sunday May 3rd might have been my favorite single day Jazz Fest lineup ever. The most anticipated set for me was The (original) Meters with special guest Cyril Neville. While the funky Meters still tour a little bit these days shows by the Meters with all four founding members (Art Neville, George Porter Jr., Zigaboo Modeliste & Leo Nocentelli) are extremely rare. Playing in their home town on the last day of Jazz Fest 2015 with support from Ivan Neville and a horn section they showed once again why they are one of the greatest and most important bands ever to come out of New Orleans.

7/31/15 Tedeschi Trucks Band with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and Doyle Bramhall II at Gathering Of The Vibes, Seaside Park – Bridgeport Ct. The three bands had been touring together for weeks and seemed to be firing on all cylinders. TTB came out on fire and by the end of the set when they were joined by all of their guests for a Sly Stone Medley the music reached an amazing peak.
10/1/15 Warren Haynes with Jeff Sipe & ChessBoxer with opener Chris Stapleton at The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester NY After seeing Warren earlier in the year with Railroad Earth supporting the Ashes & Dust CD I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect from this band. They completely exceeded my expectations and when Warren brought out opener Chris Stapleton to join him for “Where Did You Sleep Last night?” the night was clearly special.
10/17/15 funky Meters with Allen Toussaint & Irma Thomas at Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival at Lafayette Square in New Orleans. When it was announced that legends Irma Thomas & Allen Tousaint were going to join the funky Meters at this amazing and free festival I knew I had to be there. Little did I know that this would be Mr. Toussaint’s last show in New Orleans as he passed away a little over two weeks later. I remember standing onstage on that beautiful evening and thinking how lucky I was to be only feet away, watching Mr. Toussaint’s fingers touch the piano keys.
