David Crosby: “Loves” Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jack White Lacking “Really Fine Song,” Jason Isbell “Intelligent and Very Good”

September 5, 2017

David Crosby is tweeting again, except unlike the president, you’ll actually get something of substance from the old rocker’s account. Many of Crosby’s spur-the-moment Q&A’s revolve around people asking his opinion on various artists, from Kanye West to his peers of the 60s rock and roll scene.

Crosby, to his credit is always honest, giving his blunt thoughts 140 characters at a time. This round of questions brought his attention to the likes of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jack White, John Mayer and Father John Misty (among others) all of whom evoked a different reaction.

He admits he loves Tedeschi Trucks Band “very much” and calls Isbell “intelligent and very good” with Mayer coming in as a “fine musician across the board” and a “nice cat.” Misty and White got the business end of the tweet with slightly lukewarm responses. Crosby fully believes White “has not shown up with a really fine song yet” and is wholly undecided on Josh Tillman’s brand of rock and roll.

We’ll have to wait if a verdict on Father John Misty ever comes down, or if White can redeem himself with a fine song one of these days.
