After combining the festivities into a single all-star billing, The Capitol Theatre hosted “The Thrill is Gone” on Feb. 16 to honor the life and work of B.B. King.

The lineup featured living legends like Buddy Guy, as well as students and longtime admirers of King, like Derek Trucks, Ivan Neville, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi, Ann Wilson, Steven Van Zandt, Robert Randolph, Warren Haynes and many more.

Rising guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram even made a star-making turn, playing on King’s beloved “Lucille” guitar.

The Capitol Theatre also donated a portion of each ticket sold to the Seva Foundation, “a global nonprofit eye care organization that transforms lives and strengthens communities by restoring sight and preventing blindness.” Seva co-founder – and longtime friend of King – Wavy Gravy was also present.
