You have to give John Mayer some credit here for immersing himself into the set so much that he had no idea when it was actually over. There seems to be some confusion on stage at Madison Square Garden on November 1, as Mayer and Oteil Burbridge tune up while everyone else ditched backstage to grab a beverage and take a nap. 

Mickey Hart runs out to tell Mayer that it is in fact over, meanwhile Mayer points to the set as to say they clearly had something else written down. Mayer’s a pro, so he might’ve been right, but still, John, the other dudes call the shots. Jeff Chimenti then did the man a favor and pulled him off stage. You’ll get the hang of it soon, JM.
