Album Stream: Echo Bloom _Red_

January 29, 2016

On Tuesday night Echo Bloom celebrated the release of their latest album at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2. Today we offer an exclusive stream of Red. This is the second release in the group’s Colors series, which continues Echo Bloom’s exploration with orchestral folk textures. Founder Kyle Evans tells Relix, “I moved to New York and wanted to be a different person. But as much as I tried to write about my current life – the smells, the colors of the city – my home seeped through everything. The album that came out is about home, and about stories. It’s black water and cracked roads. Beaches in the night and wanting to be so much further away. Northwest Florida and Georgia. The band that coalesced around the tours of the first record in our colors trilogy, “Blue,” became the recording band and we cut most of the album live. And I love the way it’s so alive. It’s a lot louder and messier than Blue – all live wires and feedback – but with stories at the core. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.”
