Curse Of Lono‘s sophomore album, As I Fell, will be released on August 17 via Submarine Cat Records. The group came together a few years ago when singer-songwriter Felix Bechtolsheimer formed the project following the breakup of his British roots act Hey Negrita. As we’ve noted, “His new group builds on that sound but also incorporates some atmospheric, cinematic element.”

Today we premiere Somewhere In Their Heads, a short documentary that explores the making of their forthcoming record. Gregg Houston (Noel Gallagher, Two Door Cinema Club, Michael Kiwanuka directed the film which captured the group at two studios on opposite sides of the Atlantic: Rancho V in Joshua Tree, California and Flesh & Bone in Hackney, London. Bechtolsheimer reflects, “We were very privileged to have had the chance to record in such a stunning location. The scenery definitely influenced the music. It was an incredible experience and we are so happy that we have Gregg’s film and Jonathans photos to take us back there.”

Curse Of Lono will release their new single, “Valentine,” this Friday.
