ALO will kick off their 2017 Tour d’Amour on February 1 in Santa Cruz. In anticipation, on Friday they will release a new four-song studio EP, Love Songs (it is now available for pre-order on digital and CD). Today we premiere their version of New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” from the forthcoming release. ALO guitarist Lebo, tells Relix, “‘Bizarre Love Triangle’ goes way back for me. As a kid, I remember sitting on my bed and through the wall I could hear my older brother and his friends hanging out in his room listening to music. ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’ is one of the songs I would hear. ALO started playing it live from time to time a while back, and I really dig the way the band approaches it. I always like it when a band can take a cover and make it their own. In other words, it doesn’t excite me very much when a band takes a cover and meticulously dissects it and nails every part. The way I see it, it’s already been done ‘right’ so what’s the point. I feel like this version is very ALO, and really represents the spirit of the band. It reminds me of the goods vibes we get going at our shows.”
The group’s upcoming tour dates appear below the stream.
